Dear Chloee, It all Belongs to You...

I wanted to do a page for Chloee and write to her since I am missing her so much right now.  My heart is aching today and my arms and the rest of me :)  The pic on this page is when she was dying - we didn't know it but her heart and kidneys were failing for the last time.  She looks so swollen and sick and tired - she was so... done.
I used the lyrics from the song Belongs to You by Emerson Drive to help me with the words!  I can never say what I want to say...
Chloee, I love you and my life belongs to you baby girl.
Love, your grieving mommy

Daddy, when I get to heaven can I taste the Milky Way?

Do you know the Buddy Jewell song Help Pour Out the Rain?  The line is "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?".  It's on our list of songs for the girls and I've been wanting to do a page for it for a long time.  Then Kristi came out with the PERFECT kit for it, so I made this page.  I really do love it and it makes me wonder what they are doing in heaven :)

Credit: Kristi W Designs
The full lyrics:
The moment was custom-made to order:
I was ridin' with my daughter on our way back from Monroe.
An' like children do, she started playin' twenty questions,
But I never would've guessed one would touch me to my soul.

She said: "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?
"Am I gonna see my Grandpa? Can I have a pair of wings?
"An' do you think that God could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"

Well, I won't lie: I pulled that car right over,
An' I sat there on the shoulder tryin' to dry my misty eyes.
An' I whispered: "Lord, I wanna thank you for my children.
"'Cause your innocence that fills them often takes me by surprise."

Like: "Daddy, when we get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"Are we goin' there to visit, or are we goin' there to stay?
"Am I gonna see my Grandpa? Can I have a pair of wings?
"An' do you think that God could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"

Well, I thought about it later on,
An' a smile came to my face.
An' when I tucked her in to bed,
I got down on my knees an' prayed.

Lord, when I get to Heaven, can I taste the Milky Way?
"I don't wanna come to visit 'cause I'm comin' home to stay.
"An' I can't wait to see my family and meet Jesus face to face.
"An' do you think, Lord, you could use another Angel,
"To help pour out the rain?"

Mmmm, can I help pour out the rain?

In Loving Memory Scrapbook Pages

I've been wanting to do a scrapbook page with the lyrics to the song Living for the Night by George Strait.  I love the line out of the song "Everyday's a Lifetime Without You" because it is so true when you lose a child.  Everyday I feel like I'm losing out on a lifetime with them...
So I did the top page first for Bree.  I love the big clock.  It seems that the biggest thing we miss is time with them.
And of course, I wanted to do a page for Chloee too.  On that page, I used the quote from her funeral.  "If tears could build a stairway and heartache make a lane, I'd walk a path to heaven and bring you home again."  More like run though I would say, if I could I would run to bring her back...

Credits: Fanfan rues des Anges

Here are the George Strait Living for the Night song lyrics:

Everyday's a lifetime without you
Hard to get through, since you've gone
So I do the only thing I know how to,
to get by
I'm living for the night

I've drawn all the curtains in this old house
To keep the sun out, off of my face
Friends stop by to check-in 'cause I've checked out
I tell them I'm fine,
I'm just living for the night

Daylight can't hide the tears I cry
the pain that came with your goodbye
The memories that keep me out of sight
Every night I venture out
into those neon arms that hold me tight
I'm living for the night

I'm a whole lot easier to talk to,
when I've had a few and settled down
Whiskey kills the man you've turned me into
And I come alive
I'm living for the night

Daylight can't hide the tears I cry
the pain that came with your goodbye
The memories that keep me out of sight
Every night I venture out
into those neon arms that hold me tight
I'm living for the night
I'm living for the night

Everyday is a lifetime without you

My Wish for you

My Wish for You - Do What you Love page for my boy

Journaling is from the Rascal Flatts song My Wish:
I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,

But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.

But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

This is my wish
I hope you know somebody loves you
May all your dreams stay big

I Believe

A Page for our Chloster called I Believe using the lyrics from the Diamond Rio song.

I Believe Lyrics:

Every now and then, soft as breath upon my skin.
I feel you come back again.
And it’s like you haven’t been gone a moment from my side,
Like the tears were never cried,
Like the hands of time were pulling you and me.
And with all my heart I’m sure, we’re closer than we ever were.
I don’t have to hear or see, I’ve got all the proof I need.
There are more than angels watching over me.
I believe.
Oh, I believe.
Now when you die, your life goes on.
It doesn’t end here when you’re gone.
Every soul is filled with light. It never ends, if I’m right.
Our love can even reach across eternity.
I believe
Oh I believe
Forever you’re a part of me, forever in the heart of me.
I would hold you even longer if I can.
Oh the people, who don’t see the most, see that I believe in ghosts.
If that makes me crazy, then I am.
Cause, I believe.
Oh, I believe.
There are more than angels watching over me.
I believe.
Oh, I believe.
Every now and then, soft as breath upon my skin,
I feel you come back again.
And I believe.

by Skip Ewing and Donny Kees
Performed by Diamond Rio

You're Always in my Heart

This is a page I did for my grieving scrapbook that is from a Keith Urban song called "Only you can love me like this". Here are the lyrics that are on the page - they are changed a bit to fit our story.
"I know there must be a reason, and I know there must be
a rhyme. We were meant to be together, and that’s why.
We just roll with the punches, though we can’t stroll
hand in hand. And when I say it’s forever, please understand,
that you’re always in my heart, you’re always on my mind.
When the world becomes too much, you’re never far behind..
And there’s no one that comes close to you, could ever take
your place.. Cause only I can love you this way.
We could’ve turned another corner, we could’ve gone another
place but we’d never have this feeling that we felt today.
And you’re always in my heart, you’re always on my mind
There’s no one that comes close to you, no one could
ever take your place. Cause only you can love me
this way.
You’re always in my heart,
Always on my mind."

Don't Go

This song was definitely not written to be a grieving song, BUT it does remind me of my daughter as she was dying from her terminal illness and leaving me.

Ready, Set, Don’t Go
Performed and written by Billy Ray Cyrus
This version is the duet with Miley Cyrus

She's got to do what she's got to do and I've got to like it or not.
She's got dreams too big for this town and she needs to give them a shot.
Wherever they are.
Looks like I'm all ready to leave with nothing left to pack.
There ain't no room for me in that car even if she asked me to tag along.
God, I got to be strong.
I'm at the starting line of the rest of my life
As ready as I've ever been.
Got the hunger and the stars in my eyes.
The prize is mine to win.
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Well, baby, get ready,
Oh I'm ready.
Get set, don't go.
Looks things are fallen in place.
Feels like they're fallen apart.
I've painted this big old smile on my face to hide my broken heart.
If only she knew.
This is where you don't say what you want so bad to say.
This is where I want to but I won't get in the way of her and her dreams.
And spreading her wings.
My wings, fly
I'm at the starting line of the rest of my life As ready as I've ever been
Got the hunger and the stars in my eyes The prize is mine to win
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Well, (Gotta get ready to go)baby, get ready, get set,(set) don't go
I'm at the starting line of the rest of my life As ready as I've ever been
Never be alright
Got the hunger and the stars in my eyes The prize is mine to win (I'll be okay)
She's waiting on my blessings before she hits that open road
Well, baby, get ready, (woah) get set, please don't go
Don't go, (let me go now, ready) don't do
I'll be alright, I'll be okay, know that i'll be thinkin of you, each and every day
She's got to do what she's got to do let me go now
She's got to do what she's got to do
I gotta do what I gotta do
She's got to do what she's got to do
Fly...

Just A Dream Lyrics by Carrie Underwood

This song is sooo wonderful. I am so excited to add it to my lyrics for the grieving collection. It is best for the loss of a boyfriend/husband but the chorus really applies to any death of a loved one. There were so many times that I felt like I was in a dream while my girls were battling their terminal illnesses. I remember saying to my husband, "This just has to be a dream."
My favorite line - it's so hard to pick!! - it's the whole chorus "Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go? I was counting on forever, now I'll never know. I can't even breathe. It's like I'm, looking from a distance, standing in the background. Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now. This can't be happening to me. This is just a dream." Wow!

Just a Dream
written and performed by Carrie Underwood

It was two weeks after the day she turned 18
all dressed in white, going to the church that night
She had his box of letters in the passenger seat,
six pence in her shoe, something borrowed, something blue
and when the church doors opened up wide she put her veil down
trying to hide the tears
oh she just couldn’t believe it
she heard the trumpets from the military band
and the flowers fell out of her hands

Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I cant even breathe
It's like I'm, looking from a distance, standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now,
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream

The preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray
lord please lift his soul and heal this hurt
then the congregation all stood up and sang the saddest song that she ever heard
then they handed her a folded up flag and she held on to all she had left of him
oh and what could’ve been
and then guns rang one last shot and it felt like a bullet in her heart

Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
I cant even breathe
It's like I'm, looking from a distance, standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now,
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream

Baby, why'd you leave me, why'd you have to go
I was counting on forever, now I'll never know
Ohh i'll never know
It's like I'm, looking from a distance, standing in the background
Everybody's saying, he's not coming home now,
This can't be happening to me
This is just a dream

Think of Me Lyrics

This is a song from Phantom of the Opera. David Archuleta sang it on American Idol last year and I fell in love with it. It wasn't written to be a grieving song but it is a wonderful grieving song and can be from the perspective of the person who is grieving or of the person who died. I adore the whole song by my favorite line is "There will never be a day, when I won't think of you. Think of me, please say you’ll think of me."

Think of Me Lyrics
Written by Hart, C; Stilgoe, R; Lloyd-Webber, A.

Think of me, think of me fondly, when we've said goodbye.
Remember me once in a while - please promise me you'll try.
When you find that, that once again, you long to take your heart back and be free,
If you ever find a moment, spare a thought for me.
We never said our love was evergreen, or as unchanging as the sea.
But if you can still remember, stop and think of me.
Think of all the things we've shared and seen.
Don't think about the things which might have been.
Think of me, think of me waking, silent and resigned.
Imagine me, trying too hard to put you from my mind.
Recall those days, look back on all those times,
think of the things we'll never do.
There will never be a day, when I won't think of you.
Think of me, please say you’ll think of me.
Whatever else you choose to do,
There will never be another day,
When I won’t think of you.
Never be another day, when I will never think of you.

Written by Hart, C; Stilgoe, R; Lloyd-Webber, A.
Performed by various artists. I personally love the David Archuleta version.

I Will Always Be With You Lyrics

This song is from the movie All Dogs Go to Heaven 2. It caught me by surprise in the movie theater and I was bawling during the show. It is a beautiful song. Unfortunately, I can't find anywhere to buy it. If you know where to buy it, please let me know. My favorite line - "I will always be with you, makes no difference where your road takes you to. Even if we’re apart, now we’re joined at the heart."

I Will Always Be With You
Music: Barry Mann, Nelly Ward
Lyrics: Cynthia Weil, Mark Young

I will always be with you,
Makes no difference where your road takes you to.
Even if we’re apart,
Now we’re joined at the heart.
Though our moment may be gone,
You and I will still live on.
I will always be with you,
I’ll be by your side whatever you do.
Other memories may fade,
But the ones that we made,
Are eternal as a star.
Now I’m part of who you are,
And I’ll be there with you in the sound of your laughter.
I’ll be in the tears you cry.
'Cause the way you and I have touched one another,
Doesn’t end with goodbye.
I will always be with you,
Like a guardian angel constant and true.
When you’re lost in the night,
And you can’t see the light,
My love will see you through.
I will always be there.
You’ll have me there.
I will always be with you.

Music: Barry Mann, Nelly Ward
Lyrics: Cynthia Weil, Mark Young

Dream of Me Lyrics

This is also not technically a grieving song, but it's perfect for those of us who wish to dream of our loved ones that have died! My favorite line - "So let me close my eyes and sleep, a chance to dream. So I can see the face I long to touch, to kiss. But only dreams can bring me this."

Dream of Me
Performed by Kirsten Dunst

Let me sleep
For when I sleep I dream that you are here
You’re mine
And all my fears are left behind
I float on air
The nightingale sings gentle lullabys
So let me close my eyes
And sleep
A chance to dream
So I can see the face I long to touch, to kiss
But only dreams can bring me this
So let the moon shine softly on the boy I long to see
And maybe when he dreams
He’ll dream of me
I’ll hide beneath the clouds
And whisper to the evening stars
They tell me love is just a dream away
Dream away
I’ll dream away
So let the moon shine softly on the boy I long to see
And maybe when he dreams
He’ll dream of me
Dream of me

Performed by Kirsten Dunst

Angels Lyrics

A beautiful song for the grieving. It seems to apply best to the loss of a spouse but really to anyone who has lost a loved one. I lost two daughters and I LOVE this song. My favorite line - "When I come to call she won't forsake me, I'm loving angels instead."

Angels
Written by Robbie Williams

I sit and wait.
Does an angel contemplate my fate?
And do they know the places where we go,
When we're grey and old?
'Cause I have been told that salvation lets their wings unfold.
So when I'm lying in my bed, thoughts running through my head,
And I feel that love is dead. I'm loving angels instead.
And through it all she offers me protection,
A lot of love and affection whether I'm right or wrong.
And down the waterfall wherever it may take me,
I know that life won't break me.
When I come to call she won't forsake me, I'm loving angels instead.
When I'm feeling weak, and my pain walks down a one way street.
I look above and I know I'll always be blessed with love.
And as the feeling grows, she breathes flesh to my bones.
And I feel that love is dead, I'm loving angels instead.
And through it all, she offers me protection.
A lot of love and affection, whether I'm right or wrong.
And down the waterfall, wherever it may take me,
I know that life won't break me.
When I come to call, she won't forsake me. I'm loving angels instead.
And through it all she offers me protection.
A lot of love and affection, whether I'm right or wrong.
And down the waterfall, wherever it may take me,
I know that life won't break me.
When I come to call, she won't forsake me. I'm loving angels instead.

Written by Robbie Williams
Performed by various artists such as Jessica Simpson and David Archuleta

Heaven Needs Angels Lyrics

My very favorite lyrics for the loss of a baby. This song won a songwriting competition. My favorite line - "Where do you go to hide all of the pain? Hold me tonight. I just want to be by your side." and "A road down from heaven is the path which she came. Returned back to home when God called her name."

Heaven Needs Angels
By Brandon Silveira

Heaven needs Angels and hearts that are kind.
Sent for my baby, said “Angel, it’s time.
You come meet me.” But she completes me.
Children are a blessing from God to us all.
Sent down from heaven to keep faith in our hearts.
Sometimes we’re tested. It must be destined.
What do you do when God calls for you?
Where do you go to hide all of the pain.
Hold me tonight. I just want to be by your side.
Sometimes we think we could have done this and that.
Keep living our lives as we did in the past.
But it’s inevitable. This pain’s unbearable.
A short time on earth is all that you’ll miss,
For an eternity with God in complete happiness.
Please know you are missed. I hope you hear this.
What do you do when God calls for you?
Where do you go to hide all of the pain?
Hold me tonight. I just want to be by your side.
Heaven needs Angels and hearts that are kind.
Sent for my baby, said, “Angel, it’s time.”
A road down from heaven is the path which she came.
Returned back to home when God called her name.

I Can Only Imagine Lyrics

This is technically not a grieving song (It is a Christian song) BUT it says so many things about what we can only imagine is to come. My favorite line - "I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by your side." I can only imagine...

I Can Only Imagine
By Bart Millard
Performed by various artists such as Mercy Me, Jeff Carson, Chris Tomlin

I can only imagine.
What it will be like,
When I walk by Your side.
I can only imagine,
What my eyes will see,
When Your Face is before me.
I can only imagine.
Yeah.
Surrounded by Your Glory,
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus?
Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing Hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.
I can only imagine,
When that day comes,
And I find myself standing in the Sun.
I can only imagine,
When all I will do is forever, forever worship You.
I can only imagine.
Yeah, I can only imagine.
Yeah, I can only imagine.
Yeah, I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.
Yeah, I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.
When all I will do is forever, forever worship You.
I can only imagine.

I Believe Lyrics

One of my very favorite grieving songs. It is just beautiful. My favorite line - "There are more than angels watching over me."

I Believe
By Skip Ewing and Donny Kees
Performed by Diamond Rio

I believe. Oh I believe.

Everybody wants to go to heaven?

There is a song by Kenny Chesney that is #1 right now. The lyrics go like this:
Everybody wants to go to heaven
Get their wings and fly around
Everybody wants to go to heaven
But nobody wants to go now
Someday I want to see those streets of gold in my halo
But I wouldn`t mind waitin` at least a hundred years or so
Everybody wants to go to heaven
It beats the other place there ain`t no doubt
Everybody wants go to heaven
But nobody wants go now

I could not disagree with a song more. Everybody loves this song and I just hate it. How I would LOVE to go to heaven right now and see my girls - in a second I would if I could - especially if I could take my husband and living son. Who is this "everybody" - certainly not the grieving community. Not anyone who has lost a child or a loved one....
What a sad song for people that are grieving.
